One of Memphis' newest downtown high-rise hotels is one of the best values for tourists who want a clean, comfortable suite at a reasonable price in a great location. In the heart of downtown, just a block from the Mississippi River, its location is far enough away from Beale Street to escape the drunken late-night revelry, but within easy walking distance (though you could simply step out the back door and hop on the trolley). A cheerful lobby and adjacent breakfast room provide guests with a welcome greeting. Suites are spacious, tastefully decorated, and include well-lighted work spaces with multi-line speaker phones, kitchenettes, and soft couches. Rooms with south-facing windows have great views of Court Square, a leafy park that dates back to before the turn of the century. On the ground floor in front of the hotel, the small outdoor pool is gated and landscaped, though not very private.
