The Jamaica-based Sandals chain opened this clone on a forested 62-hectare (153-acre) site that slopes steeply down to the sea. This is larger and more upscale than the Sandals Halcyon, but not as spiffy as the newest Sandals Grande St. Lucian Beach Resort. However, the male-female couples thing is just as strongly emphasized here. The hotel is near Castries, on the island's northwestern coast. The center of the resort is a gazebo-capped pool that incorporates two waterfalls, a swim-up bar, and a dining pavilion. Larger-than-expected guest rooms contain king-size four-poster beds with mahogany headboards, balconies or patios, and a pastel tropical decor. Bathrooms are spacious, with shower/tub combinations.

The resort's six restaurants are infinitely superior to the cuisine served at Sandals Halcyon . The most upscale, La Toc, features French cuisine. Kimonos offers Japanese food cooked on a heated table top, Teppanyaki style. The Arizona Restaurant, as befits its name, features the cuisine of the U.S. Southwest. After dark, guests gravitate to Jaime's, the nightclub/disco, or to Herbie's Piano Bar. Inquire about the "stay at one, play at three" program where you stay at one Sandals property but are able to use the other properties as well.
