Bangor's only downtown hotel is in a handsome brick building dating from 1873 and now on the National Register of Historic Places. The exterior shows a Victorian exuberance; trim, attractive guest rooms are comfortably furnished with mahogany reproduction furniture. Some rooms have four-poster beds, but all are carpeted and have wingback chairs for comfortable reading or watching television in the evening. Ask for one of the brighter, quieter corner rooms in the back.
