This is a small hotel in the northwest of town off Avenida da Boavista in the vicinity of Fundação de Serralves. Rising three floors, this 1975 hotel enjoys a location in an exclusive residential neighborhood and a rather tranquil setting in bustling Porto. The government-rated five-star hotel was acquired by the famous Tivoli chain in 1989, which is known for having one of the best hotels in Lisbon. The Porto hotel is classical yet very modernized, its midsize to spacious bedrooms fully equipped with tasteful furnishings and thoughtful little extra touches, such as a magnifying mirror in the marble-clad bathrooms. An impressive buffet breakfast is served, but there is no restaurant. However, a good French restaurant, Foco, stands adjacent to the Tivoli.
