Originally slated to be a skyscraper, the Inbal (long known as the popular Laromme Hotel) was redesigned into a low-rise that would not clash with the city's skyline. The result is an interesting structure set at the edge of Liberty Bell Park (a plus for guests with children) and built around a balconied atrium lobby; the public areas were renovated in 1999. The Inbal has a good reputation for service. Rooms come in two sizes: the larger (Maximum) rooms are spacious, with luxurious bathrooms, and cost about $50 additional for a double room. There are 14 well-appointed suites. All rooms are light, airy, and contain well-designed contemporary furnishings. There are rooms for travelers with disabilities. The location is close to the quaint Yemin Moshe neighborhood, but a 15-minute uphill walk to the Ben-Yehuda Mall downtown area (downtown buses stop around the corner in front of the Dan Panorama Hotel). The swimming pool is open year-round. Kosher restaurants include separate meat and dairy/vegetarian facilities.
