This is where my brother stays when he's doing business in Farmington. Built in 1976, it provides spacious rooms and good amenities, though you have to like to walk because the rooms are built around a huge quadrangle with an indoor pool in a sunny, plant-filled courtyard. Request a room at one of the four corner entrances to avoid trudging down the long hallways. Also request a room that is facing outside rather than in toward the courtyard, where noise from the pool carries. This is a good choice for winter, when you can enjoy the courtyard. Rooms are bright and decorated with Southwest accents. Beds are firm, and bathrooms are medium-size and clean. Suites have microwaves, wet bars, extra phones at desks, and sofa beds. Best of all, the hotel is just steps away from the Riverwalk, a great place to get your morning or evening exercise.
The hotel's restaurant, the Riverwalk Patio and Grille, offers a wide selection of New Mexican and Southwest Italian cuisine. Rookie's Sports Bar, which features pool tables and televised sporting events and specials, always offers a drink special.
