Just 3km (2 miles) from the village, the lodge is set high on a plateau that overlooks the plains of the Zambezi National Park and is surrounded by views of unspoiled bush. Constructed on 11 levels, much like an open-plan thatched treehouse, it overlooks a very productive water hole -- the balcony has been described as one of the best places in Africa to breakfast, with everything from elephant to large herds of buffalo quenching their thirst in full view. All the rooms have glass doors that open onto private west-facing balconies, offering spectacular views of the bushveld and sunsets. Guests must be accompanied by guides when walking outside the perimeters of the resort, a reminder of how close to nature you are. The nearby Lokhutula Lodge (US$120-US$200 for a 2-bedroom chalet) is the lodge's self-catering option; this is where you'll find the Boma.
