Beam me up, Scotty. Austin's only full-service airport hotel, located in the former administrative center of Bergstrom Air Force Base, has a distinctively spacey look. For one thing, it's round. And although the underground tunnels and fallout shelters designed to protect the Commander in Chief in Texas's capital were capped off during the Hilton's construction, the building remains rock-solid -- and blissfully soundproof. But there's nothing cold looking about this place inside. Centered under a skylit dome, the lobby is light and airy. The theme throughout is Texas Hill Country: Think limestone and wood, with lots of live plants for good measure. Large, comfortable rooms are equipped with all the amenities.
